  • How do I know if I pregnet I dont get my period every month normaly I been spotting for two days & cravinq alot of thinqs & I have been getting dizzy but only once …? Help !
& how fast can too have symptoms bekus i kinda did it Monday

  • Hi Maritza,

If you do not have normal periods each month, then using your period (or lack of a period) as a guide is probably not the best way to determine if you are pregnant.

You would need to rely on other symptoms. Again, there is not “standard” timeframe for having symptoms with pregnancy – some women say they experience symptoms within a couple days, while others take much more time (or even have very few).

I do not believe that there is any way to determine if you are pregnant within a few days, as a pregnancy test will only work at the point of a normally-missed period (usually about 19 days after having sex).

Specifically, you mention spotting, and yes, spotting can be experienced in early pregnancy. You might want to look for other symptoms as well, and see a doctor if they become persistent.

  • Hey
I was curious to know what my syptoms may be related to. I had severe cramps a couple weeks ago when I was supposed to get my period but still haven’t received it yet. I’ve never missed a month due to stress and the cramps stopped last weeks. I constantly have to go to the bathroom, am hungry and tired. My husband believes I’m pregnant. I’m not sure, maybe from stress..? What could it be?

    • Dear Alishia,

Your symptoms can be related to so many things, including a potential pregnancy! Have you tried using a home pregnancy test yet? At this point, you should be able to tell from the results if you are indeed pregnant! My advice to you is to do this as soon a possible and if you are indeed pregnant you need to start taking care of your body (for the pregnancy), including seeing a doctor. If the pregnancy test is negative, my advice is also to see your doctor because of your symptoms, particularly because you are experiencing what sounds like unusual cramping. Usually hormonal imbalances or anatomical issues are some of causes for missed periods, and not usually just normal stress from everyday life. Good luck to you and your husband.

  • I’ve been very constipated lateley have also been feeling very tired, have weird cravings and slight headaches. Backaches and stomach aches also experienced spotting this month. Could I be pregnant?

    • Hi Trish,

Pregnancy symptoms can vary from woman to woman, but constipation is generally not one of the first signs of pregnancy, but it can certainly be a symptom at some point for many who are pregnant. At the same time, many of your other symptoms could be signs of pregnancy. How long has it been since you have had unprotected sex? Have you missed your period? If so, try a home pregnancy test!

  • I had gotten my period for 2 days last week. I am on the Depo shot, and have been for a year and a half, and yet me and my boy friend still had sex. It’s only been a week and I have cramps and burning in my uterus (lower middle abdomin area). I have been vomiting and exhausted too. Is there any chance I could have symptoms this early?

    • Hi Erin,
Symptoms can begin very soon upon becoming pregnant – but not everyone’s situation is the same. Please do a home pregnancy test and then check with your doctor if your symptoms continue, or if it’s positive. Note that a pregnancy test won’t be positive right away, and you may have symptoms sooner than the test will show.
      Take care Erin!
